Personal
I think I feel I need to make something clear to you and to everyone...
I don't think there is a person alive who wants our deal to close more than I do!
We all have our reasons for this tremendous desire. All of us.
Some of us are in it just for the fungola$.
Some of us, no doubt a much smaller group, are in it for the money...
But not for the sake of the money - instead for what the money can do
to help our desperate brothers and sisters all over the world.
You see, many years ago, my very first mentor, a wealthy man whose
mansion I worked at in summer months thru high school, once loaned me
the keys to his brand new Cadillac Eldorado. Being from shall we say
"modest" standards, I resisted, but he insisted, as he said, "Mike, I
want you to experience life on the other side of the tracks."
When we meet in Vegas I will share more details of this story with you.
I mention it now only because I realize overwhelmingly most of our
fellow partners have never had a taste of life 'from the other side of
the tracks.'
For the few who have had this wonderful opportunity, you know, the
taste - they understand "mindset" will travel you across those
tracks. Not luck, not just hard work, but your attitude is the
primary mode of transcending those tracks.
My good friend, Ivan Heckscher, gave me the idea for the foundation I will begin, and hopefully soon.
It will be called the "Bamboo Group" and already just two of the projects the Bamboo Group will fund are:
1. A trade school scholarship program given to one boy and one girl from every high school in America, every year.
Collegiate scholarships abound, however few scholarship programs are
available for those young people who want to be a hair stylist, a
plumber, a mechanic - well, you get the idea.
These two year degrees can be a distant dream to so many and I hope to fill that void soon.
2. Imagine a fish farm ten miles wide and thirty miles long, off the
coast of South Africa and between Madagascar, raising enough fish to
quite literally feeding millions of starving of our brothers and
sisters in Africa.
And all of this is just the beginning. Initiatives of the Bamboo Group
which I hope and pray many of my partners, if they do not have their
own magnificent philanthropy ideas, will join me in these pursuits.
I will talk about these and other Bamboo goals in Vegas.
Speaking of praying, not a day goes by, every morning when I arise and
every evening before I close my eyes, I pray to my Maker for a
successful conclusion to these years of struggle.
Make no mistake about it...
Despite the struggles, the blow back, the reputation damage, and the insults, I would do it all over again!
By the way, you may recall recently I did say I will not read or
respond to insulting or negative emails, and I would begin publishing
those emails without edit (except for profanity) including the senders
name and email address. I'm not accusing you - certainly not!
However I know many people, yes even people who are not loan partners,
read these updates.
Even though I received a couple of these downers recently after my
first warning of publication I choose instead to give one more warning
to anyone contemplating sending me something so egregious, so stupid,
and so presumptive, it is totally off the decorum charts. 'Nuff said.
One million dollars
You may recall we had an issue with one million dollars being locked up
after the wire had been initiated. I will not go into the reasons we
need this one million dollars as I have covered it before, so just an
update on this topic now...
The lawyer who was retained to get to the bottom of why the bank was
holding up the final transfer of these funds to the seller's escrow
account, discovered the reason. Turns out the initial one million was
sent from Asia by a wealthy family, of course the bank wouldn't know
who they were, and this global wire threw up red flags especially being
from Asia. You know, the big question... Is this money laundering?
Well myself and a couple other VIPs to our cause have been scrambling
over this issue and in fact found another source for the one million
dollars.
Now, as it turns out, two million dollars is being wired today to the
seller's / lawyers' escrow account, however only one of them is needed
so the other one will be returned.
I tell you this story because it has been a nightmarish ten days or so.
And these ten days have thrown a monkey wrench in the logistics of our
expected closing!
Our deal
I have said, every time I have mentioned closing by the end of March
(anyone who wishes to verify this comment may do so by looking at any
of my previous updates regarding it, so they may see for a fact) I have
always claimed it was the seller's comment that he expected to close by
the end of the first quarter, meaning the end of March.
For God's sakes, please don't beat me up over this!!
To tie the two ideas together, the one million wire fiasco and the
expected March 31st or before closing date were inextricably
intertwined.
So last night at midnight my time, I am on the phone with Garry, my
partner, who went to L.A. for face-to-face, nose-to-nose, toes-to-toes,
meeting with the seller.
They called me at 9:00pm their time, and we had a 3-way meeting via the speakerphone as Garry and the seller were together.
Here's the upside and it really is good news.
The seller has documentation from our Central bank in South Korea that
the aggregate total value of just his intellectual properties all owned
by several companies which are part of the package being sold, is worth
an estimated eight trillion dollars.
And this does not even count the value of various tokenized cryptos and
NFTs which has been the plan all along for the cash back at closing /
our big pay day (I know this is complicated and a lot of details to
sort thru)
So during the course of our one hour midnight meeting the seller
brought me up to speed and committed to putting all of these details
together, via video, for your benefit and other partners benefit for
two reasons:
1. First, remember the IPO initiative using tokens and NFTs instead of
stock certificates? Well, guess what? These assets will soon become
available to all of us should any of us decide to get our money back
plus a very respectable profit to be determined, if necessary, and that
is a big "if necessary."
Because as of the writing of this update I do not know the banks
posture on a new closing date. Remember all of that hinged on the
receipt of those one million dollars.
2. The seller wants to prove to all eyes looking at this deal, it is
not some scheme, it is not the world's biggest fraud, it is in fact
very real and very viable.
Frankly I think he is doing this video just for us as a way of helping
ease the suffering I have been experiencing and I thank him for it.
As it stands right now, keep in mind things are moving fast and
changing daily, changing almost hourly, we are all in the same
position. Meaning...
WE WANT THIS THING CLOSED AND EACH OF US FOR OUR OWN REASONS
Nevertheless, our seller who is a tech virtuoso will soon prove to the world this is not some pie-in-the-sky plan.
By the way, a fun aside. Did you know Thomas Edison held 1,003
patents? But yet during his lifetime he was only known for a handful
like the phonograph and the light bulb.
I hate to say this but I genuinely feel this way, our seller is on par
or close to being on par with these prodigious accomplishments the like
of Edison. I have every faith in him, he feels my pain, my pressure,
and he feels YOURS ALSO!
In summation, we will prevail!
We will lock step march through all of this, and for those who have
never tasted life from the other side of those tracks, your turn is
coming.
P.S. Just for fun, let the mudslingers claim anything close to
this: When I was just 22 years old, the President of General Motors had
dinner with my wife and I at our kitchen table in our off campus
married student housing apartment.
Life on the other side of the tracks is truly amazing.
